About

The closure cut off the Little Feni estuary to reclaim land and stop the salt tide, and the Forest Department planted the new ground. What visitors found was a straight embankment running out between the river and the sea, the regulator roaring in the monsoon, a young forest, fishing boats below and nothing on the horizon: it became Noakhali's picnic and sunset ground. The 2024 flood broke the regulator and the site was badly damaged; check its condition before going.

Getting there: CNG from Basurhat (Companiganj), itself about an hour from Maijdee.

Things to do

  • Walk the embankment to the end for the sunset.
