About

Lines reached the area from Kaunia in the late nineteenth century and were extended towards Assam in 1908; by then Lalmonirhat had become an important rail hub. The station, the railway offices and staff quarters still shape the town.

It is worth a short walk if you are interested in railway history, or simply while waiting for a train north to Burimari.
