Known for
- 1
The Teesta barrage.
At Dalia the country's largest irrigation project holds back the Teesta; the long barrage and the wide sandy river around it are the district's big day out.
- 2
Tin Bigha and Dahagram.
In Patgram a strip of Indian land leased to Bangladesh links the Dahagram-Angarpota enclave to the rest of the country: a border curiosity you can walk.
- 3
Old mosques and a railway town.
The Harano mosque ruins, the Mughal-era Nidaria mosque, and Lalmonirhat's own railway junction, a divisional railway headquarters since British times.
