About

The tree stands in Mandumala village by the Harinmari border, in the far north-west of the district. Its heavy limbs have bent down to rest on the earth and grown on outward, so you walk among them as if under a roof of leaves. It is counted among the largest mango trees in Bangladesh.

The family that owns it sells the fruit each summer. Visitors come all year; in June the tree is hung with mangoes. Please do not climb on the branches or pick fruit.

Getting there: Bus or CNG to Baliadangi, then an auto to Mandumala near Harinmari.

Things to do

  • Walk under the canopy to where the branches touch the ground.

Good to know

  • It is near the border: carry ID and keep to the village roads.
