About

The family traced its fortune to a trader, Ghanashyam Kundu, who settled here around 1400 and acquired the estate. On about three acres the zamindars built a court house for running the estate, places of worship, a dancing hall and family quarters.

The buildings are in poor repair, with plaster ornament and old doorways still visible. It is a short stop on the way to the border villages.

Getting there: Bus from Thakurgaon to Haripur upazila; the palace is in the town centre.

Things to do

  • Walk round the court house and the old temples.
