About

No date is written on the building, but from its inscription and style archaeologists place it in the Mughal period, probably around 1656. Who built it is still debated.

The front has three small doorways framed in leafy patterns and terracotta plaques, and the mosque is still in use by the village of Mirzapur. It is a short, rewarding stop on the way between Panchagarh and Thakurgaon.

Getting there: Bus or auto to Atwari, then to Mirzapur village.

Things to do

  • Look closely at the terracotta round the three doors.

Good to know

  • Avoid prayer times and dress modestly.
