About

Jadunath Chowdhury is said to have wanted to lay out Nagarpur like a small Kolkata. Beside the rangmahal there was once a menagerie of peacocks, deer and cockatoos.

The main buildings now serve a college, and the decoration on the old façades is what most visitors come for. It is close to Pakutia, so the two are easily seen together.

Getting there: From Tangail, about an hour by CNG or bus to Nagarpur.

Things to do

  • See the rangmahal's façade and pair the visit with Pakutia.

Good to know

  • It is a working college; keep to the grounds during class hours.
