About
Hason Raja was a wealthy zamindar who turned from pleasure to a mystic search, and his songs about the passing world and the divine are still sung across Bengal. The museum in the house where his family lived keeps his chair and table, his paan box, a part of his tea table, portraits and copies of his writing, with a research centre on his literature beside it.
It sits by the Surma, close to the town centre.
Getting there: A short rickshaw ride inside Sunamganj town.
Things to do
- Listen to a recording of his songs, then walk along the Surma.
