About
The Chanchra family were among the leading landholders of old Jashore. Little is recorded of who founded the house, but the temples on the estate are its best-kept parts.
Visit for the atmosphere of a fading estate rather than a restored palace, and treat the buildings with care.
Getting there: Chanchra is on the town's southern edge, a short rickshaw or easy-bike ride.
Things to do
- See the estate temples.
Good to know
- Old walls are unsafe; do not climb.
