Madhusudan's Sagardari.
The poet Michael Madhusudan Dutt was born in 1824 in a landowning house on the Kapotaksha at Sagardari, Keshabpur. The house, its pond and the riverbank he wrote about are kept as a memorial, and a fair in his name fills the village each January.

Old Jashore and the border.
In the town, the two-storey Collectorate on the Bhairab still works as the district office; on the Kapotaksha at Mirzanagar stands a Mughal faujdar's bath house; and at Benapole, the busiest land crossing to India, the two border guards lower their flags together every evening.

- Madhu Mela, Sagardari Late January, around the poet's birthday
November to February: dry roads, cool days, date-palm juice and molasses season, and the Madhu Mela at Sagardari in late January. Summer is hot; the monsoon fills the baors and rivers but muddies the village roads.
