About

Baors are the old river bends of the south-west that became lakes. At Jhapa the floating bridge joins the villages on either side and has made the baor a popular outing.

Boats can be hired at the bank, and the evening light on the water is the reason most people stay.

Getting there: Bus or CNG from Jashore to Monirampur, then an easy-bike to Jhapa.

Things to do

  • Walk the floating bridge, then take a boat at sunset.

Good to know

  • The bridge sways; keep children close.
