About

Rema-Kalenga is mixed dry and evergreen forest, divided into the Rema, Kalenga, Chhanbari and Rashidpur beats. It is much bigger and quieter than Satchari, with primates, many birds and a watch tower; the trails start from Kalenga.

It is a longer trip on rough roads, so go early, take a guide from the forest office and carry water.

Getting there: From Chunarughat by CNG or jeep to Kalenga, on rough roads.

Things to do

  • Walk a forest trail from Kalenga with a guide.

Good to know

  • The border is close; stay with your guide on marked trails.
