About
Kukri Mukri is low land; at high tide much of its shore goes under water and the edges are mudflats. Mangroves were planted across the island from the 1970s, and the forest now shelters deer and a great many birds, especially in winter.
A watchtower looks over the forest, and boats run along the creeks. With an early start you can see deer at the forest edge. Most visitors stay a night on the island.
Getting there: Bus from Bhola town to Char Fasson, then a trawler or speedboat to the island.
Things to do
- Climb the watchtower and take a boat along the forest creeks.
Good to know
- Check the weather before crossing; boats stop in rough water.
