About

Rajshahi University is the country's second oldest university. Visitors come for Paris Road, the long avenue under tall trees, the Shaheed Minar and the memorial to Dr Shamsuzzoha, the teacher killed protecting students in 1969, and the quiet lakes and gardens around the halls.

It is a working campus: walk, take pictures and respect classes and halls.

Getting there: Auto-rickshaw along the Dhaka road, about 4 km east of the centre.

Things to do

  • Walk Paris Road in the late afternoon light.

Good to know

  • Weekdays are busy with classes; Fridays are quietest.
