About
Kuriana and Atghar lie in the same orchard and canal country as Bhimruli across the district line, and have their own market on the water. In the guava season boats crowd the canal each morning, loaded with fruit for traders who ship it on.
The area also has a weekly boat market where carpenters sell the wooden boats the whole region depends on. Hire a boat and you can see orchards, market and canal life in one trip.
Getting there: From Swarupkathi town by auto to Kuriana, then a boat; from Barishal about an hour and a half by road.
Things to do
- Combine it with Bhimruli by boat on the same morning.
Good to know
- Arrive early; trading is over by midday.
