About

Shah Shuja, governor of Bengal, founded Sujabad village and built two forts here, one of earth and one of brick, known as the inner and outer forts, to guard the southern rivers from Magh pirates.

The forts have almost vanished; what remains is mounds and traces in the village. Come for the history and the river country, not for walls.

Getting there: By auto or CNG from Jhalokati town.

Things to do

  • Ask villagers to show the old mounds.

Good to know

  • Little remains; go with modest expectations.
