About
Anglican missionaries from England settled in Barishal in the late nineteenth century and raised this church in the early 1900s. Locals call it the red church: tall arches, a long nave and a single bell tower, set in green grounds with a pond.
The church still serves its congregation, and the mission runs schools on the same grounds. Visitors are usually allowed in the grounds by day; ask at the gate before going inside.
Getting there: In the city centre on Bogura Road, by rickshaw.
Things to do
- See the facade from across the pond.
Good to know
- Keep quiet and ask before photographing services.
