About
Atish Dipankar was one of the great scholars of Vikramashila and later taught in Tibet, where he is still revered. Bikrampur claims him as its own, and the spot at Bajrayogini near Munshiganj town, known as "Pandit Bhita", keeps his memory.
There is little to see beyond the memorial, but Buddhist visitors come from far, and it adds meaning to a day in old Bikrampur.
Getting there: Auto from Munshiganj town to Bajrayogini, about 20 minutes.
Things to do
- Visit with Baba Adam's mosque in Rampal nearby.
Good to know
- Ask locally for "Pandit Bhita"; signs are few.
