About

Locals also call it Chita falls. It became widely known only after a group of travellers reached it with a local guide in 2010. Its height has never been measured properly; estimates run from about 135 to 160 feet.

The walk from the last village takes a few hours each way, up and down slippery hillocks and along stream beds through bamboo and forest. It is a real trek: start early and be back before dark.

Getting there: By jeep or CNG from Sreemangal via Kamalganj to Kalabanpara, then on foot.

Things to do

  • Trek in with a local guide and cool off in the pool.

Good to know

  • Hire a guide in the village, carry water and a bamboo stick, and watch for leeches in the rains.
