About
Maulvi Abdullah, a teacher from Raipur, built the mosque around 1888; the inscription by the stair names it after him. It is unusual for the region: a large hall raised over an underground floor, three domes, corner minarets and a tall front, all in lime plaster, built with money and labour that the town could not explain, which is where the jinn story comes from. It is the main mosque of Raipur and open between prayers.
