A large old tank at Paglakanai near Jhenaidah town, linked by tradition to Raja Mukut Roy, the local ruler remembered for roads and tanks.

The story goes that when the tank was dug no water came, until the queen herself went down into it; drums were beaten during the digging, which gave it the name "sea of drums". Whatever the truth, it is a wide sheet of water with tree-lined banks, popular for evening walks and picnics.
Getting there: Easy-bike from Jhenaidah town, about 15 minutes.
