About
For much of the year large parts of Kotalipara lie under water. Farmers here build floating beds of water hyacinth and grow seedlings and vegetables on them, an old way of farming the flooded land.
A boat ride through the beels after the monsoon is the best way to see it.
Getting there: Bus or CNG from Gopalganj town to Kotalipara, about an hour.
Things to do
- Take a boat through the beels to see the floating beds.
Good to know
- Ask the farmers before stepping near the beds.
