About
The temple takes its name from Rajaram Roy Chowdhury, a zamindar of Khalia and devotee of Kali. Its exact date is not known; accounts range from the seventeenth century to around 1825. It is built of brick in the shape of a four-roofed (char-chala) house and is a protected monument.
Parts of it are damaged, and a notice board warns visitors about safety, but its outline and remaining brickwork are still striking.
Getting there: Bus to Rajoir or Tekerhat, then an easy-bike to Khalia.
Things to do
- Walk round it to see the brickwork from every side.
Good to know
- Do not climb or go into the damaged parts.
