About
The estate is thought to date from around 1900 and once spread over a very large area with many buildings. The families left around the Partition of 1947, and since then much of it has been pulled down or taken over.
What stands today is a scatter of old brick houses and temples among village homes, worth a look for anyone who likes faded colonial-era buildings.
Getting there: Easy-bike or CNG from Gopalganj town to Ulpur.
Things to do
- Walk the village lanes to find the scattered buildings.
Good to know
- Some buildings are lived in; ask before going inside.
