About
The mosque is a square of burnt red brick, its thick walls more than two metres deep. Inside, four stone pillars divide the hall into nine bays, each under its own dome, the plan used by the Khan Jahan style mosques of Bagerhat.
It is still in use and has been repaired over the years. It sits just off the Dhaka–Barishal highway, so it is an easy stop on the way into or out of the district.
Getting there: At Gournadi on the Dhaka–Barishal highway, about an hour north of the city by bus.
Things to do
- Look up at the nine domes from the central bay.
Good to know
- Combine it with Guthia on the same road.
