About

There is nothing standing, only the raised ground, scattered old bricks and ponds, but the legend is strong and a fair is held in the area. The link to the epic is tradition, not proven history; the bricks show a much older settlement than the villages around it.

Getting there: From Gobindaganj on the Dhaka–Rangpur highway by CNG; ask for Virat.

Things to do

  • Walk the top of the mound and look for old bricks.

Good to know

  • Leave every brick where it lies; it is a protected kind of site.
