About
The museum stands near the Karatoya just north of the citadel. Its rooms hold finds from the excavations: stone and bronze images, terracotta plaques, pottery, coins and inscribed pieces, with others brought from sites across the north.
See it before or after the ruins; the objects make sense of the bare brick. It is run by the Department of Archaeology and closes on its weekly holiday.
Getting there: A short walk from the Mahasthangarh citadel.
Things to do
- Look for the terracotta plaques and the Buddha images.
Good to know
- Check the weekly closing day before you go.
