About

The name means the home of Govinda, Vishnu, though nothing Vaishnava was found here. The excavated brick foundations of temples sit on a terrace above the river, opposite the museum.

It takes little time to see, and the river view makes it a good place to end a day at Mahasthangarh.

Getting there: Opposite the Mahasthan museum, a short walk from the citadel.

Things to do

  • Pair it with the museum across the road.

Good to know

  • Late afternoon light over the Karatoya is the best time.
