About
Digs from 1973–74 found two rectangular monasteries of the late Gupta period, with rows of monks' cells around open courts, and a temple of near cross shape. The thick walls and stairs stand clear of the ground.
It is quieter than Mahasthangarh and worth the short detour through village roads.
Getting there: About 6 km west of Mahasthangarh, at Bihar village in Shibganj.
Things to do
- Walk round the monks' cells of the larger monastery.
Good to know
- Hire a CNG from Mahasthangarh for the round trip.
