About
The terminal is the busiest river port in the country. In the late afternoon the big launches line up for Barishal, Bhola, Patuakhali and beyond, and porters, hawkers and passengers fill the pontoons.
For a visitor the best thing is a short ride in a hired wooden boat on the river: the launches, the cargo ships and the old city on the bank seen from the water.
Getting there: Rickshaw or car to Sadarghat; it is at the south end of Old Dhaka.
Things to do
- Take a short boat ride, then walk to Ahsan Manzil.
Good to know
- Keep your phone and wallet close in the crowd.
