About

Armenian traders settled in Dhaka in the Mughal period and gave Armanitola its name. Their church, built in the late 18th century, has a long hall, a gallery and a bell tower, and its yard is full of carved gravestones.

The community is gone, but the church is kept up and can usually be visited when the caretaker is there.

Getting there: Rickshaw to Armanitola; it is close to the Star Mosque.

Things to do

  • Read the old gravestones in the yard.
