About

The museum grew from the Dhaka Museum founded in 1913 and moved to its present building at Shahbag in 1983. Its galleries run from stone and bronze sculpture of the Pala and Sena periods to Mughal-era coins and arms, nakshi kantha and muslin, folk art, and the flora and fauna of the country.

It is big; pick a few floors rather than trying to see all of it.

Getting there: Metro to Shahbag; the museum is beside the station.
