About

Dharmasagar covers about 23 acres beside the Cumilla stadium and the Rani's Kuthir. The Tripura kings had it cut to give the town water, and a stone inscription records the date. Today it is the city's park: a paved walk around the water with old trees, boats in the afternoon, the Nazrul Institute (the poet lived in Cumilla for a time) on the west bank and the Town Hall nearby.

Come at dusk when the whole town is out walking.

Getting there: In the centre of the city near Kandirpar; walk or rickshaw.

Things to do

  • Walk the full circuit at sunset.

Good to know

  • Weekend evenings are crowded; mornings are quiet.
