The northern shore near the village and the jetty: the easiest beach to reach, with fishing boats, coral flats at low tide and the hills of Myanmar on the skyline.

About

The north beach curves from the jetty side round to the island's north-western corner. It is the first beach most day visitors reach, so it is busier than the west, with fishing boats pulled up on the sand and wide coral flats when the tide is out.

On a clear day the hills across the water to the east are in Myanmar. Walk west along the shore and you come round to the west beach for the sunset.

Things to do

  • Walk the shore from the jetty round to the west beach.

Good to know

  • Take every wrapper and bottle back with you to the mainland.
