About
The tea garden, laid out by British owners on about 1,839 acres, gave its name to the whole area. The Lova comes down from the hills clear and stony, much like Jaflong but far less crowded.
An old iron bridge, now disused, stands in the garden, and Khasi villages lie nearby.
Getting there: About 2 hours by road to Kanaighat, then a boat up the Surma and Lova.
Things to do
- Walk to the old iron bridge in the garden.
Good to know
- Start early; there is little to eat on the way.
