About
The Dighapatia family were offshoots of the Natore Raj, and their palace was rebuilt after the earthquake of 1897. After independence it was named Uttara Gonobhaban and kept as a residence for the head of government in the north, so parts may close when it is in use.
Inside the gate are the main palace, guest houses, a garden of marble statues and old trees, a cannon and ponds with lilies. A museum shows the family's furniture and objects.
Getting there: Auto-rickshaw from Natore town to Dighapatia, about 3 km.
Things to do
- See the statue garden and the lily pond by the palace.
Good to know
- Visiting may stop while officials are in residence; ask in town first.
