About
The family rose in the early 18th century, and under Rani Bhabani the estate became one of the largest in Bengal. The grounds hold two branches of the palace, the Boro Torof and the Chhoto Torof, with their offices and temples, divided by ponds and wide lawns.
The buildings are old and some are worn, but the setting is calm and green, and the town turns out here on holidays. Pair it with Uttara Gonobhaban a short ride away.
Getting there: Rickshaw from the town centre, a few minutes.
Things to do
- Walk round the big pond between the two palace branches.
Good to know
- Combine with Uttara Gonobhaban and a box of kancha golla.
