About
An inscription dates the mosque to 1519, in the reign of Sultan Alauddin Husain Shah, built by Mulla Hizabar Akbar Khan. It is a square brick room under a single dome, with three mihrabs in the west wall; the central one is carved in stone.
The Archaeology Department has looked after it since 1975. It sits among village houses a little west of Panam, and makes a quiet stop after the busier sites.
Getting there: Rickshaw from Panam Nagar, a few minutes.
Things to do
- Look closely at the stone mihrab and the terracotta on the outer walls.
Good to know
- It is a working mosque: dress modestly and avoid prayer times.
