About
In Naogaon union, in the south-west of Fulbaria upazila, the forest land gives way to long rows of rubber trees. The garden belongs to the Bangladesh Forest Industries Development Corporation (BFIDC), which took over rubber growing in the country from the forest department in 1962 and has run plantations ever since.
A government factory stands inside the garden, so you can see how the tapped latex is processed into rubber. Monkeys live in the trees. The country around it is known for growing turmeric and pineapple, and Borobila beel in Rangamatia union and the old Anai Rajar Dighi are in the same corner of the upazila.
