About

Unlike the palace temples nearby, this one is alive every day. Paresh Sadhu installed its images in 1940, and the temple beside the zamindars' house is run by a committee on donations from the town. The priest holds puja morning and evening, and devotees gather at both.

It is best known for Rash Purnima, the full moon in November, when an adhibas opens 56 prahars of continuous Harinam kirtan and kirtan troupes come from across the country and abroad. The event is so much a part of the place that the temple has come to be called the Chhappanna Prahar Math, the ground of the fifty-six watches.

Getting there: Beside the Rajbari in Muktagachha town.
