About

The mosque takes its name from the village. It is built of brick with plaster and ceramic decoration, a row of domes over the prayer hall and slender corner towers, in the style of the late Mughal period.

On Fridays people come from around the region to pray and make vows, and a fair grows up outside. Other days it is quiet, which suits a closer look at the façade.

Getting there: CNG or bus from Kushtia town to Jhaudia, under an hour.

Things to do

  • Look at the ceramic and plaster work on the façade.

Good to know

  • Avoid prayer times if you want photographs; dress modestly.
