About

Old bricks and mounds are scattered through the village that carries the king's name. Folk tradition says his daughter Adhuna married King Gopichandra, a tale told in many local songs.

There is little to see beyond the mounds, so come for the story and the countryside, ideally together with Dharmapal's garh.

Getting there: By auto from Jaldhaka or Nilphamari town.

Things to do

  • Ask villagers for the stories of Harishchandra.

Good to know

  • Do not take bricks from the site.
