About
Isa Khan, leader of the Baro Bhuiyans who resisted the Mughals, took this fort from a local chief at the end of the 16th century. When his son made peace with the Mughals, the family moved here from Sonargaon.
Today you see a moat and pond, old walls, the family's later house, graves of his successors and a small museum and library. It is listed by the Department of Archaeology.
Getting there: By CNG from Kishoreganj town towards Karimganj.
Things to do
- Walk round the pond and the old wall, then see the museum room.
Good to know
- Descendants still live here; be respectful around the house.
