About
Tradition credits it to Sangram Singh, who took charge of the revenue here after the death of the Bhusna zamindar Satrajit in 1636 and grew powerful. Some date it earlier, to the 16th century.
The tower rises in ridged faces, each panel carved in terracotta with figures and patterns. It stands beside the road, easy to combine with a trip to Rajbari or Magura.
Getting there: Bus to Madhukhali on the Dhaka–Khulna highway, then about 2 km by easy-bike towards Baliakandi.
Things to do
- Walk round it slowly to see the terracotta panels.
Good to know
- Morning or late-afternoon light shows the carving best.
