About
The Siddheshwari Math stands on the bank of the Nabaganga in Atharokhada village, about a mile and a half, some 3 km, from Magura town. The ground it stands on was once called the Kalikatala shmashan, a cremation ground, and the math is counted among the district's notable religious places and on its list of places to visit. Records do not say who built it or when.
It is a short trip from town by tempo, rickshaw or van, and an easy pairing with a walk along the river and Nangta Baba's ashram at Satdoha on the way back. Atharokhada union lists the math as its main sight. Come in the cool of the morning or evening, when the river is calm.
