About
The mosque was built in the early twentieth century by a local man, Momin Uddin, with walls, doors and roof of joined and carved timber, decorated with fine floral and calligraphic work.
It is a protected monument and still used for prayer. Look closely at the carved panels; the whole building is small enough to see in a few minutes, but worth the detour.
Getting there: In Mathbaria upazila, south of Pirojpur town, by bus to Mathbaria then auto.
Things to do
- Study the carved wall panels.
Good to know
- Ask the caretaker before going in; avoid prayer times.
