About
Sultan is known for vast canvases of Bengali farmers drawn with exaggerated strength, a way of showing the peasant as the real power of the land. After years of wandering he settled back in Narail, keeping animals and teaching children to draw.
The museum shows a selection of his work and the things he lived with. Nearby by the river is the boat he had built so children could paint on the water.
Getting there: Machimdia is on the edge of Narail town, a short easy-bike ride.
